About

This is my website for sharing the projects and code used in the Abstract Mathematics and Friends blog, as well as other explorations. I like to work with JavaScript and Python, both powerful programming languages, to explore mathematics and technology. Take a look at some of my example projects, and for more explanations and writing, check out my blog.

Abstract mathematics is about removing patterns and ideas away from real world objects, and proving mathematical truths without a predetermined application. However, while pursuing abstract mathematics, it is reasonable that the thinking skills earned by tackling challenging problems will find application in some way. Many concepts once considered abstract are now commonplace, including:

  • Negative numbers
  • Zero as a number
  • The decimal base system
  • This pursuit of mathematics is lifting weights for the mind. It makes common problems appear much more manageable. One of the most valuable skills is learning how to think.
